Why is it that bus drivers behave like traffic laws don’t apply to them? Do they get a little cocky because they get to drive on the shoulder lane on the Highways? Maybe. I really don’t know… What I do know is that my short 2-3 mile drive through the University of Minnesota campus, is the most dangerous stretch of my entire commute. Not only do I have to avoid hitting the stupid pedestrians and cyclists who fling themselves in front of my car with no regard to their own lives, but I also have to avoid being smashed to bits by psychotic bus drivers from hell.
Point and case, I am sitting at a stop light waiting for the other side’s turn lane to finish up. My light turns green, signifying that the other side’s light has already turned red, so I ever so slightly ease on the gas to get moving, and ::BOOM:: a super stretch bus just decides to plow through the intersection! Luckily I am used to this kind of behavior and easily avoided an accident, but it could have ended badly had someone not been paying attention for stupid bus drivers. More often than not do I see bus drivers running red lights, cutting people off, changing lanes without signaling and nearly killing pedestrians/cyclists. When will this insanity end!?! Probably never, but a girl can hope can’t she?
I wish you really did have a blue turtle shell on your ass
